Passengers who are 16+ should purchase an adult ticket. If you are 16-17 you can travel unaccompanied if you have written consent from your parent or guardian. Please note that some countries, like France have additional documents needed for you to travel unaccompanied.

On our North Sea route woman who are more than 28 weeks pregnant should consult their doctor before travelling. You will be required to provide a medical certificate that covers you for both your outward and return journey. If you are more than 34 weeks pregnant than you will not be permitted to travel with us.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who is 18 or over. We ask that they stay with their parent or guardian during their time on the ship. We do have a variety of kid’s entertainment available for them to enjoy.

Children under the age of 4 may travel free of charge, but please make sure you include them as passengers when you make a booking. Charges may apply on mini cruise bookings. We have baby changing facilities available on our vessels.

The accessibility of our ships can vary and we would recommend that you check out our ship pages before booking or travelling with us, for the most up to date information. Please let us know when you make your booking what special assistance you require. Not only will this help us provide you with the best service possible, it is also a legal requirement for us to gather this information.

If you require someone to accompany you to provide assistance please let us know. If we consider it necessary they will travel for free.

Dogs, cats or other small animals are allowed on our ships with pet passports, as long as they meet all the EU requirements. The latest information on the pet passport scheme can be found on the DEFRA website.

All cats and dogs must be put in our air-conditioned onboard kennels during the trip. The kennels are separated and designed so each pet can’t see each other.

We check the kennels every two hours, but should you wish to visit your pet, you can do so if accompanied by P&O staff. Just ask at the onboard reception.

Get your Sunflower Lanyard – before you travel

If you, or someone you are caring for has a disability that may not be immediately apparent, the Sunflower Lanyard acts as a discreet sign for staff that additional support or assistance may be required. The use of the lanyard is voluntary and details of the disability are not needed. If you need special assistance, this should still be highlighted to us during the booking process.

We are proud to be the first within the ferry sector to launch this scheme. Initially the lanyards will be available on our North Sea routes. We are hoping this will encourage other providers to follow suit and help support their customers. We are passionate about our customer’s experience and providing inclusive transport, we understand travel and unfamiliar surroundings can present challenges for some of our customers.

If you wish to request a lanyard before travel, you can contact us via phone on 01304 44 88 84 or by email on travelassistance@poferries.com. A lanyard will then be posted to you within 7 days.

Additionally you have the option of collecting a lanyard on your day of travel, this can be requested when you check in for your sailing or from our reception desk on board.
