Liverpool Ferry Terminal is easily accessible by road, rail, or bus from the city centre.

 

Below you’ll find all the information you need to get there on your departure day. Make sure you leave in plenty of time – check-in closes 60 minutes before departure with a vehicle. We recommend arriving 1h15m before departure to avoid queues.

  • Getting to us by

    The P&O Ferries Liverpool Port is in Bootle, about 4.5 miles out of Liverpool city centre. Follow the A565 north up the coast from the city centre to reach the port. Travelling from the north you will want to follow the M6 south towards Liverpool, and from the south you will follow the M62 north to Liverpool/Southport.

  • Arriving at the Port

    Please ensure you use the correct lane once you arrive at the port and stay in it until boarding the ferry and obey traffic lights/signals. There will be stewards at hand to help direct you if you are unsure of where to go. For information about the port’s facilities, please read these guides.

    For the sake of your pet’s wellbeing, unfortunately we can no longer offer travel for pets (except guide dogs) on our Liverpool-Dublin ferry service. Please look at our alternative Cairnryan-Larne service if you would like to take your pets with you.

    P&O Ferries Dublin terminal is just two miles from Dublin city centre, opposite the 3 Arena and an Odeon Cinema. There are bus services occurring every 10 to 30 minutes and reach the city centre within 10 minutes. If you’re travelling by car, the M50 surrounds the city of Dublin connecting with the M1 leading north and M11 leading south. Follow the M4 west to reach the other side of Ireland, including Galway, or take the M7 to reach Limerick.
